WA Student Council Camp
The WA Student Council Camp was held on 4-8 March 2023 at Point Walter Recreation & Conference Centre. Oscar Cuffe-Cain was one of the 35 councillors from across Western Australia, who met face-to-face to complete a series of teamwork and cultural awareness workshops.

On Sunday and Monday, Oscar participated in various team building and planning sessions, including an Orienteering Challenge around Point Walter Camp, which he enjoyed the most. On Tuesday, the group visited Parliament house to learn about the functions, procedures and the rich history of parliament. This session also included presenting to the Parliamentary Secretaries, Ms Meredith Jane Hammat MLA and Mr Yaz Mubarakai MLA, where they discussed South Metro having a focus on Education Support, students with a disability and those with learning difficulties in mainstream classes.

The camp concluded with Oscar attending the International Women’s Day Breakfast held this morning at Optus Stadium, recognising the achievement of women in education and the announcement of the 2023 Director General’s Women of Achievement Award Winner – Lee Musumeci.

We are very proud of Oscar and look forward to continuing to develop his leadership skills as our WA Student Council Representative.
